If you had a freeway billboard, what would it say?

Find your inner creative.

Being creative, in whatever form that takes, is a powerful way to make meaning in your life. It is fun, enjoyable and stimulating. It enhances brain function, improves mental health, reduces stress and improves memory. It can take whatever form you like. It isn’t just about doing art, but it can be.

Types of creative activity include: Joinery, woodworking, up-cycling furniture, metalworking, mechanics, building work, construction, scientific creativity, creating maths games or puzzles, word play, gardening, horticulture, fashion, crafts, decorating, design, art, photography, writing, acting, drama, cooking, baking, dance… the list is massive and endless! Go on, be creative

What a life-affirming message. “Find your inner creative” feels like an invitation rather than an instruction—open, generous, and deeply human. I love how you expand creativity beyond the usual artistic boxes and remind us that making, building, solving, and tending are all acts of imagination. This reads like a gentle nudge to reclaim joy, curiosity, and purpose in everyday life. A billboard worth slowing down for—and a reminder many of us need.
