It’s my tenth anniversary of being sober. I didn’t think for one minute I’d be able to give up booze when I set out on this journey as I was very alcohol dependent. My doctor told me I needed to seriously cut down on my drinking as my liver test scores were very bad. I have a genetic liver disorder that killed my father and runs in my family. I was drinking every day because of stress. I was scared to stop drinking and didn’t think I would ever be able to go out and have a good time again. At the time, I didn’t think I could do it, but here I am, 10 years later.
