What is the most important thing to carry with you all the time?

The thing I carry everywhere is my phone. I remember very well buying one of the first iPhones early in 2008, before there was even an App Store! (The iPhone App Store launched on July 10, 2008, with 500 apps available.) I couldn’t have imagined how integral to modern life they would become. I mean, let’s be clear here. I still call it a phone, but the only one who ever rings me is the doctor. My ‘phone’ is my wallet, it is a way of communicating with loved ones, it is how my daughter sends me beautiful photos of my granddaughter, it has all my music on it, it is how I take notes and write my blog, it is my camera and is how I interact artistically with the world, I charge my car with it, navigate in my car with it, turn my lighting and heating on and off, I do my banking with it, read books on it, watch videos on it, read the news on it, have my calendar on it and do my shopping on it. It is an encyclopaedia in my pocket and now it is even a smart assistant. That’s quite a list of achievements. It isn’t so much a ‘Jack of all trades, master of none’, as a ‘master of all trades’. No wonder I take it with me everywhere I go.
