A silly little thing,

Wasn’t quite a dinosaur

Nor bird, despite its wings.

Its looks were almost avian

Its feathers spoke of flight,

But when you saw those teeth and claws

You knew it liked to bite

I’d love to see an Archaeopteryx, the transitional bird reptile species. It lived in the late Jurassic period around 150 million years ago, and was around the size of a magpie or raven. Archaeopteryx had jaws with sharp teeth, three fingers with claws, a long bony tail, a killing claw on its feet and feathers. It is seen as a key evolutionary species, but putting all that aside, it just looks like a beautiful creature.
