It occurred to me that our perception of time and reality is like a burning fuse. We experience the point of ignition in unison, all of us moving along in the heat of a singular moment, burning our available energies, caught up in the entropy of time.
The past is spent, but still there, gradually getting further and further away from us. The future is untapped potential energy, gradually being consumed as the present hurtles like a juggernaut toward it.
Time and heat are inextricably linked. We expend all the energy we can until we inevitability break down. Upon our death, we fly away from the molten centre of the fuse, a spent spark hurtling into oblivion.
