What place in the world do you never want to visit? Why?
The place I would never want to visit, at least in winter, is Oymyakon, in Russia, which is the coldest permanently inhabited human settlement on Earth. I hate being cold and in Oymyakon it gets cold. Average winter temperatures are minus 50 degrees from October to April!
I’m one of those people who can feel cold even on a mild Summer’s day and my hands are like permanent blocks of ice. We didn’t have central heating growing up. Mam didn’t get it fitted until she was 65 and even then she never used it. Our house was always cold. The only fire we had was a coal fire, the windows would freeze over in winter and we didn’t have quilts on the bed, only blankets. It’s easy to gloss over that and say ‘it didn’t do us any harm’, but I remember it being bloody awful! Ha ha, I’m such a wimp.
There’s a fashion these days in the UK, for men to walk around in short pants, even on the coldest days in winter. I cannot understand for the life of me why they do this. They can’t be warm, so I can only assume they think it looks good. In my mind, it’s crazy but I think we’ve established what a wimp I am. So no, don’t send me to Siberia please. I’d much rather stay in the warmth of the sun.

It would be great to hear your thoughts about this
